In this image the masked animals would cover the 3 inner slides perfectly, creating the idea of variety as well as the idea that the tracks are united, due the similar genre throughout. However, between the animals the imagery is bland and with 30% grass and the majority of the animals covered the image itself would soon lose its appeal as well as fail to attract the target audience.
This second image is far more appealing, the portraits in the background and bookshelves book ending each side of the shot will create the atmosphere of a middle class lifestyle, this will appeal to our target audience who will mainly be from this social class and background. The masked animals vary in height which allows the detail to be spread across the shot as well as continuing to state the idea that the Bunny is in control from our music video.
This final choice is back in the field location, however in this shot the animals are in considerably more detail as well as being in array of movements. This particular shot shows the bunny as the dominant creature due to its central location and size among the others. However it also brings the creatures back to being animalistic which negates the plot of the music video which presents the Bunny as being a mysteriously masked human rather than a wild animal.

Your 3 recent posts explain your purpose clearly. I particularly like your reference to Wes Anderson's work.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the composition in your first example because it conveys the surrealist style of your music video. There is a wildness in the image. Your interior shot in the living room is in stark contrast in that it represents a more ordered domestic world. I'd suggest your first example because of the disorder it connotes.
Would need to see the prototypes put together so that I can get an idea of the visual narrative of your digipak.
Well done Robin.
